Meet the Maker

Hey, my name is Iz, and…

This is me!

My name is Isabella, and I am a tree-hugging, bike-riding, snowboarding adrenaline junkie. My current home base is in the panhandle of Idaho, but I’m never here for too long. My Moose and I have a tendency to hop in Dorothy (the truck) to check out for a little while and hit the road. That’s what life’s about though, ain’t it? Crashing bikes, catching fish, and chasing waterfalls… at least that’s what my dog tells me. He seems to have his priorities straight.

Before Idaho, I have lived in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and New Zealand; I have been known to move around as opportunities arise. Each place has left me itching for more. For the future, I’ve got big plans and bigger dreams, and I can’t wait to live them out.

Like what you hear? Let’s talk some more.

This is my right hand woman.

After sadly outgrowing my first love, Lolita (a.k.a. my 1999 4Runner), I bought this gem. Her name is Dorothy, and I have big plans for her…

She is a perfect truck for me; she carries all my toys (like my mountainbike, snowboard, or cross country skis), takes me anywhere I could possibly want, and lets me bring my gaggle of friends up the mountain.

I can’t wait to show you everything I end up doing to this truck, because I am going to help her become a pretty kickass adventure vehicle. Hopefully, by the end of it, I will be able to call her home.

I mean, what more could a girl ask for in a truck?

And this is my life.

There is nothing more exciting than being outside. Lucky for me, I have found a means of doing what I love as a career. I am a forest health specialist, and my job is focused on forest pathology and entomology. Long story short, playing in the woods is a large part of what I do (but for science).

Though a career and an education is and will be a major part of my life, it definitely is not my whole life. However, my goals in a career and my goals outside of a career are very similar: to celebrate, preserve, and explore what the planet has to offer. I look forward to all of the trips to come, whether they are in the camper, overseas, or right in my backyard. If you want to watch my dirtbag adventures, subscribe to get notifications of any exciting things going on, and check out my blog! I also talk about how I built good ol’ Dorothy from start to finish.

Don’t forget to hug a tree, and love your mother.
